Welcome Back Lovelies
Happy New Year! I hope your year has been going well so far. The beginning of a new year also means the start of a brand-new semester. It is easy to feel the pressures of university throughout the semester, but you cannot let them consume you.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."
Philippians 4:6

Spring Semester can be very stressful, and procrastination can often get the best of us, but it is important to remember that it does not define you. Being that this is my 3rd year in college, I have learned many practices that have helped me to reduce my stress levels before they overwhelm me. This was a skill that I wish I had acquired before attending college but it has changed my life for the better. More often than not many college students take on more than they can handle out of peer pressure from outward sources. Sometimes we compare ourselves to each other and feel as though we are not doing enough when in actuality we are doing better than we think we are. Once you realize that you are exactly where you need to be, your stress levels will decrease immensely.
1. Set the Tone with a Stress-Free Morning Routine
It is so important to start your day with peace and calmness. I never realized just how important it was to begin my day with a stress-free morning routine until I began making intentional changes to my routine. These changes do not have to be drastic, but they should be impactful. Setting good intentions can ground your day, Typically, I like to start my day with the word. For the past several months, I have been journaling and praying before I get out of bed. I also listen to gospel music in the morning to start my day. I also make myself a nice breakfast each morning too. This has helped my energy levels in the mornings and overall helped me start my day. Your ideal stress-free morning routine may look different from this and that is okay! Some ideas that you can incorporate into your morning routine is
Waking up at the same time every day
Prep the night before (pack your bags & lay out your clothes)
Limit screen time at least 30 minutes before bed
2. Organization is Key
Maintaining organization throughout my life has helped me tremendously, especially since I have been in college. At the start of each month, I add all of my deadlines to my physical and digital calendars. By doing this I can visually see everything and plan accordingly. This helps me maintain focus and prepares me for the upcoming weeks. Being organized can also help reduce stress and promote productivity. Be sure to plan accordingly not only for your academic life but also your social life. Make sure that you are making time to prioritize for yourself and your loved ones. It is so easy to get caught and forget to do so, especially as the semester begins to pick up.
