A New Year Of You
Happy New Year
It is that time of the year when everyone decides to make new year resolutions and set new goals.
I believe that it is important and even vital to set new goals at the start of every year in order to grow as a person. Sometimes it is hard to keep up with those goals though and actually accomplish them.
Speaking from first-hand experience I know how hard this is.
This year I set a goal that I will actually accomplish my goals this year and stay consistent with them as well.
In this article, I will share exactly how I established my goals and how I plan to accomplish them as well.
Inner Work For Establishing Your Goals
Before the new year came I took some time to evaluate the past year and evaluate what goals I would like to accomplish in the new year.
I thought about specific goals and placed them into three separate categories.
Personal, Health, & Spiritual
Everyone's categories will look different depending on what you want to focus on for this year but this is a very important step regardless of your focus.
You need to do the inner work when establishing your goals to better determine what goals will be beneficial in the long run.
I personally sat down and wrote out every single goal in detail in my journal. This not only helped me envision my goals but also helped me identify the important ones.
If you want to accomplish your goals you need to be specific and intentional with your goals when establishing them.
Consistency Is Key
Consistency has always been a challenge for me whenever I begin something new but I have figured out what works for me. I work best when I have a set plan or schedule.
For example, I want to start working out consistently and going to the gym two to three times a week. I have written out my weekly schedule for the next two weeks and have incorporated workouts in between my free time.
I believe this will help me stay consistent because I don't have to worry about making time. I have already made time, I just have to stick to it!
I also believe setting timers/self-reminders are good for staying consistent as well.
Breaking up your goals can help too with staying consistent. It will help your goals not become so overwhelming over time.
Lastly, make sure to also reward yourself whenever you complete any goal small or big!
2023 will be what you make it so make it the best year it can be!
