Cheers To Staying Healthy This Summer!

I underestimated how difficult it would be to stay healthy this summer. Temptation is everywhere! I've missed my favorite meals that I couldn’t enjoy at college. This first month back has taught me that I have to adapt new tactics to stay healthy this summer. In this blog post, I will share some tips and tricks that I am using to stay healthy this summer.
To be healthy, you must want to be healthy. This was hard for me to grasp at first because I don’t see a problem with eating my favorite meals or indulging in sweets. My body sees a problem with it though and I recognized that. I wanted to make a lifestyle change so that being healthy became a choice and a want. Once I made that change, I began to make my plan of action.
Meditation
I’ve always had an on-and-off relationship with meditation. I would meditate every morning for a week and then stop. I didn’t see the point in it and I only saw small results. That is until I changed my mindset and made my meditation special to me.
I realized that I wasn’t doing meditation correctly. I was following different strategies and techniques online because I thought there was only one right way to do meditation, but I was wrong. Meditation is defined as engaging in mental exercise (such as concentrating on one's breathing or repetition of a mantra) for the purpose of reaching a heightened level of spiritual awareness. There isn’t a right or wrong way to meditate though. Once I learned this, I changed my approach to meditation completely. Now for my meditation, every morning I wake up and reflect. I incorporate prayer into my meditation as well. I listen to a guided prayer or plan using the Bible app while I
Motivation
Staying motivated is key. To stay motivated, I promise myself rewards for completing my goals. I try to establish short-term and long-term goals to encourage motivation. The best advice I can give for staying motivated is to imagine yourself once you accomplish your goal and work towards that. Staying motivated is a mindset. If you stay consistent with your goals, motivation will follow as you begin to achieve your goals.
Matcha
Lastly, I have finally started drinking matcha! Matcha is a type of green tea made of green tea leaves that provides nutrients to your body. Matcha has been proven to have many benefits and is a healthy alternative to coffee or carbonated drinks. I love incorporating matcha into my weekly routine and switching it out for coffee.
