Living Intentionally: The Key Of Mindfulness In Daily Choices

Everything You Do Matters

Welcome Back Lovelies

Don't be mad at me, lol. I know that it has been over a month since I wrote a blog post, and for that, I apologize. As you know, I always want to put my best foot forward with LWL, and I needed some time away before I could. All in all, this time away from writing has proven to be beneficial! I have so much content to post, and I can't wait for y'all to see it! Stay tuned for many more articles!

For today's blog post, we're discussing the importance of being mindful in your daily choices. Life can get hard, and it is easy to let the troubles of the world consume you. But when you make conscious choices each day to be intentional and present in your actions, it can get easier. Mindfulness can help bring peace to your life when there is often chaos.

“The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate.”

Oprah Winfrey

Life moves fast. Between school, work, extracurriculars, and trying to keep up with friends, it’s way too easy to get caught up in the craziness of life. You don’t realize it until you're just going through the motions. So, what if you decided to slow down and be intentional with the choices you make every day? That small shift? It can change everything! When you start being mindful and living intentionally, life starts to feel a little easier and a lot less overwhelming.  Intentional living has honestly been the best decision I’ve made this year.  For me, life is about perspective and making those conscious decisions that can positively impact our lives. It’s about making the choice to see the good in every situation and asking yourself “How can I reshift my mindset to intentionally start showing up for myself?” This simple adjustment can help you stay focused and move forward.

At the heart of it all is mindfulness — being present, aware, and grounded in the now. It’s not just about meditation or quiet time (although that helps). It’s about checking in with yourself, whether you’re choosing what to eat, who to hang out with, or how you spend your free time. Mindfulness turns autopilot off and gives your choices meaning. With that being said, living intentionally doesn’t mean being perfect. It's about being aware of how your choices directly affect you, no matter how small or big. It can look like giving your body some extra rest, letting go of what no longer serves you, and spreading kindness where you go (especially to yourself).

This past year, I often found myself letting everything that was happening around me directly impact my day or even my weeks. I was choosing to only see the negative in situations instead of the good in each day. But one day, I finally decided to be the change I wanted to see. I decided that if I wanted to start feeling better and get back to being the best version of myself, I had to start making the conscious decision to be mindful of what I was allowing to impact my life. I decided to stop feeling bad for myself and start intentionally making choices that will serve me.

For me, this meant no longer giving power to outside things that I could not control.  It meant protecting my peace, setting boundaries, recognizing my triggers, and finally saying NO without fear. I realized I had to stop waiting around for things to get better and start changing from within. The way I reacted to situations, spoke to myself, how I chose to spend my day all had to change before anything else.  I started to intentionally pouring into myself and finding myself again. I started spending more time praying and doing activities that just made me feel good. Of course, just by doing things my life did not instantly get better. But through time, it started to become easier, and peace returned back to my life.

I began to start pouring into myself and made a commitment to finding me again. I started to spend more intentional time with God, praying more, and leaning on my faith. I created space for activities that simply made me feel good, brought me joy, peace, and clarity. Through time, things started to feel lighter. I started choosing to show up for myself intentionally and on purpose.

At first, I didn’t understand why I was going through this season, but I now recognize that this season brought me back a sense of peace. It forced me to start living intentionally and being mindful of the decisions I make. For that, I will never take that for granted.

In conclusion, being intentional with every moment in your life can have a positive impact, even during difficult times. Adopting this mindset has helped me tremendously, and I hope it can help you too.
