Why wait until January to start feeling your best?

Welcome Back Lovelies

Long time, no read! I have to apologize for being away so long! This semester has been so busy for me that I haven't been able to write, but that's no excuse. I'm so excited to be back and creating content for LWL. It is officially the last month of the year, and I realized that we don't have to wait until January to reset for the new year. This post will focus on taking this month to focus on yourself before the new year! We’re focusing on our wellness, faith, ourselves, and our future. This is your official welcome to your Winter Arc Glow-Up!

December always feels like a transitional period. School is wrapping up, the new year is upon us, and winter break is just around the corner. During this time, I like to take some time to focus on the woman I am now and the woman I am becoming. Instead of placing pressure on myself if I didn’t meet all my goals from last year, I set new ones. I like to use this time to create small but intentional habits that help me reset and recharge from the previous year. I also want to focus on things that will nourish my mind, body, and soul. Whether that's spending time with God in the morning by reading scripture, journaling before bed, or even working out.

I like incorporating simple and intentional practices that ground me. This December reset isn't about perfection; instead, it's about reinforcing the growth from the past year and reevaluating the areas that need more attention ahead of the new year.

You Deserve A Reset

It's easy for us to carry so much baggage from the year with us into the new year, such as unfinished goals and expectations. A December reset is about giving yourself permission to pause and prioritize what matters most to you. This is a Winter Arc- "a time of the year (October – December) that is dedicated to entering a state of extreme focus and discipline to get a head start on self-improvement goals before the new year." In other words, this is a reset designed to help you reflect, reset, and level up before the new year! Your Winter Arc isn't about perfection or trying to make the most change in a short amount of time. Instead, it's about reconnecting with yourself and reevaluating how you want your new year to look.

This is your chance to focus on the person you're becoming through self-care and faith. When January comes, you will enter the new year feeling better than ever. You deserve this reset!

Implementing Daily Habits for Your Future You

There are a lot of misconceptions about winter arcs, but the main goal of a Winter Arc is to show up for yourself in he best way possible. The best way to do this is to show yourself love every single day. You can achieve this by incorporating daily habits into your routine. These habits should ground you and energize you for the next year to come.

Some daily habits I am including in winter include:

Intentional Morning Bible Study: I like to listen to the Word before I start my day to ground myself for the day ahead.

Reading Every Day: I try to challenge myself to read a few chapters of my book every day!

These habits won't just serve you right now but also in the future. Your Winter Arc is the perfect time to prioritize yourself and establish habits ahead of the new year that leave you feeling prepared and empowered.

Staying Productive & Preparing for What’s Next

At the root of a Winter Arc is rest and reflection; it is also a season of preparation and dedication. December is the last chance to refocus, set yourself up for the new year without the unnecessary pressure.

Productivity during your Winter Arc doesn't have to be intense, but it does have to be intentional. For me, this looks like preparing for the second half of my senior year. I am focusing on studying for the LSAT, finishing summer internship applications, and revamping my resume. Staying productive during break will allow me to relax ahead of the new year. This will ease my anxiety later and allow me to enter the new year feeling prepared. I am also going to take this time to pour into Lifestyle With Linds. I plan to create content ahead of time, so I don't feel trapped creatively later.

Take some time to think about what productivity looks like for you this winter break. It doesn't have to be academic productivity; it could be physical productivity or creative productivity!

With this in mind, the key to productivity is balance. You must balance it out with rest, family time, and peace. Use this time to find clarity for the new year and reflect on the past years' lessons. Think about what you are ready to release and bring into the new year!

In conclusion, your Winter arc is whatever you choose to make it to be. You get out what you put in. If you choose to move with purpose and not pressure, the work you do now will build your foundation for the new year!
